Sacred Heart Church Mosaics and Cartoons

Applicant: Congregation of Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Betharram

Project description: This project will save the heritage of this Grade II* listed church in Droitwich, Worcestershire by conserving a 100-year-old mosaic ecclesiastical scheme as well as conserving and digitising the corresponding cartoon drawings.

Decision: Award grant of £189,031 (86%)

Project description: This project will recruit and train volunteers already involved in the WELLIES project initiative to work at three different heritage sites in Sudbury, Derbyshire.

Project description: This project will celebrate the centenary of the birth of the Stoke artist, playwright, poet and broadcaster, Arthur Berry. It focuses on inclusion and saving heritage through capturing local memories, providing access to archive materials, rediscovering lost art and creating a celebration of North Staffordshire culture.

Project description: This Nottingham-based project will feature interviews with Brazilians living in the UK alongside public exhibitions, talks and workshops related to Brazilian culture and heritage.

Project description: This project will improve the condition of the Grade I listed church, boost nature and engage the local community with the church's history and outdoor space.

Project description: This project will record oral histories from Stamford residents covering their living memory of Stamford, Lincolnshire, with the endpoint being the arrival of Ukrainian refugees in Stamford. The findings will be used to create artefacts/art pieces and an exhibition.

Preserving Pugin's Church: St Mary's, Wymeswold Roof Repairs and Community Heritage Stories

Applicant: The Parochial Church Council of St Mary Wymeswold

Project description: This project will repair and preserve the fabric of the church of St Mary's Wymeswold, increase its use as a community facility and make the history of this Grade-I listed building in Nottinghamshire more widely accessible.

Renovating St Giles' in the Centre of Cambridge

Applicant: The Parochial Church Council of The Ecclesiastical Benefice of The Ascension, Cambridge (St. Giles with St. Peter, St. Luke and St. Augustine)

Project description: This project will undertake repair works to the Grade II* listed church to address the threat of damp to parts of the roof, help to manage the collection and disposal of rainwater and help it continue to welcome visitors and run events.
