Project Description: This project aims to restore a unique Georgian B-listed building so that St Mark’s Church can continue to showcase its important heritage and serve the people of Portobello for the next 200 years.

Leith St Andrew's Centre – Building for our Community

Applicant: Think Circus SCIO

Project Description: This project aims to carry out feasibility work and develop a business plan to support the plan for long-term community ownership of the building, Leith St Andrew’s. Furthermore, the project will aim to undertake community engagement to better understand the needs of residents and collect memories about the heritage of the building and the community.

Decision: Award Grant of £25,386 (98% of total costs)

Tradition and Transmission: Heritage Skills at Whithorn

Applicant: The Whithorn Trust

Project Description: This heritage skills project seeks to support young people to learn and develop traditional building skills over the next five years, leading to the (re-)construction of a new heritage asset for the town of Whithorn.

Project Description: The project aims to formulate a feasibility study that will guide the organisation in the transformation of Timespan into a more accessible, sustainable, and inclusive museum and cultural institution.

Project Description: Comann Dualchas Innse Gall (CDIG), a heritage forum that represents 25 community-led heritage groups and museums in the Outer Hebrides, aims to undertake a skills development survey within the local heritage and museums sector.

David Hume, the Enlightenment, race and power: re-examining the heritage of Scotland’s ‘greatest' philosopher

Project Description: This project seeks to encourage deeper engagement with David Hume’s work, exploring how an anti-racist and post-colonial lens can aid our understanding of his contribution to Scotland’s heritage and its connection to contemporary Scottish society and economy.
