Towards 200 Years

Applicant: St Mark's Episcopal Church Portobello

Project Description: This project aims to restore a unique Georgian B-listed building so that St Mark’s Church can continue to showcase its important heritage and serve the people of Portobello for the next 200 years.

Decision: Award Grant of £134,860 (20% of total costs)

Leith St Andrew's Centre – Building for our Community

Applicant: Think Circus SCIO

Project Description: This project aims to carry out feasibility work and develop a business plan to support the plan for long-term community ownership of the building, Leith St Andrew’s. Furthermore, the project will aim to undertake community engagement to better understand the needs of residents and collect memories about the heritage of the building and the community.

Decision: Award Grant of £25,386 (98% of total costs)

Tradition and Transmission: Heritage Skills at Whithorn

Applicant: The Whithorn Trust

Project Description: This heritage skills project seeks to support young people to learn and develop traditional building skills over the next five years, leading to the (re-)construction of a new heritage asset for the town of Whithorn.

Reimagining Timespan

Applicant: Helmsdale Heritage and Arts Society

Project Description: The project aims to formulate a feasibility study that will guide the organisation in the transformation of Timespan into a more accessible, sustainable, and inclusive museum and cultural institution.

Decision: Award Grant of £55,336 (79% of total costs)

Applicant: Rumpus Room Ltd

Project Description: This project aims to bring together young people to explore colonial histories and climate justice through a programme of co-produced workshops and events.

Dualchas do Dhaoine | Heritage for People, 2024 - 2027

Applicant: Comann Dualchas Innse Gall

Project Description: Comann Dualchas Innse Gall (CDIG), a heritage forum that represents 25 community-led heritage groups and museums in the Outer Hebrides, aims to undertake a skills development survey within the local heritage and museums sector.

Decision: Award Grant of £249,900 (58% of total costs)

Applicant: Glenkens Community and Arts Trust Limited

Project Description: This project aims to promote social cohesion within communities living in Glenkens through the sharing of their culture and natural heritage.

Roman Legacy

Applicant: Greenfaulds High School

Project Description: This project seeks to recognise, commemorate and celebrate the impact of the Romans on the local Cumbernauld area and across Scotland, through a programme of educational activities, art workshops and site visits.

Decision: Award Grant of £20,000 (100% of total costs)

David Hume, the Enlightenment, race and power: re-examining the heritage of Scotland’s ‘greatest' philosopher

Applicant: David Hume Institute

Project Description: This project seeks to encourage deeper engagement with David Hume’s work, exploring how an anti-racist and post-colonial lens can aid our understanding of his contribution to Scotland’s heritage and its connection to contemporary Scottish society and economy.

Decision: Award Grant of £129,017 (100% of total costs)

Roof Repair of the B listed former Carbon Factory and Ice Climbing Centre in Kinlochleven, Highlands

Applicant: Kinlochleven Community Trust

Project Description: This project aims to focus on the industrial heritage of Kinlochleven, providing a roof repair for a B-listed former carbon factory building.
