We're looking for eight new committee members who can help us steer a course for heritage.

It has been so rewarding to support the National Lottery Heritage Fund, make a profound difference to heritage and culture in the UK, and, importantly, for people, communities and the environment.

We are seeking:

You’ll use your expertise to guide decisions on our grants between £250,000 and £5 million in your area and maintain oversight of smaller grants.

You’ll also discover a range of wonderful and fascinating heritage, including breath-taking landscapes, iconic landmarks, local treasures and community memories.

We are looking for Committee members who are passionate about putting people at the heart of this heritage.

What some of our current members say

Izzy Mohammed, Committee Member for England, Midlands & East, said: “It has been so rewarding to support the National Lottery Heritage Fund, make a profound difference to heritage and culture in the UK, and, importantly, for people, communities and the environment.”

Sue Beardsmore, Committee Chair for England, Midlands & East, would agree. She told us: “Seeing what heritage projects can do for people and places is extraordinary; exploring amazing landscapes, wonderful buildings and fascinating community projects is a true privilege."

Liz Davidson, Committee Member for Scotland, told us that meeting others who are deeply engaged in heritage is a hugely rewarding part of the role. She said: “Being able to see the scope of exciting, clever projects out there and meet some of those passionate activists for their communities has been energising and fills me with hope for the future.”

Creating hope for the future was also important for Neena Sohal, Committee Member for England, London & South, who said: “It’s a privilege to be able to support projects that will leave lasting legacies for future generations to enjoy and learn about our shared heritage.”
