Inspirational, sustainable new displays will engage visitors in finding out more about the city. In October 2016, the museum was re-launched on its tenth anniversary. It offers regularly changing displays to draw in a new generation of visitors so that they understand how the cultural legacy, diverse communities and landscape have moulded one of our major northern cities.
Kim Streets, Chief Executive of Museums Sheffield, said: "Weston Park is a celebration of Sheffield and since reopening in 2006 the people of the city have taken it to their hearts. Now we plan to provide more opportunities to display more of the collections, more often and to showcase Sheffield’s rich heritage.
"The new project will allow us to use what we’ve learnt over the past decade to build on its success, and ensure the museum is fit to delight and inspire visitors for years to come."
