The project focused on repairing buildings and improving Ingram Street and Trongate in Merchant City.
Merchant City was formerly the commercial heart of Glasgow. This central area of the city has a mix of banks, warehouses, shops and offices, alongside grant public buildings and housing. Both Ingramt Street and Trongate are important ‘gateway’ streets, lined with some of the finest buildings in Glasgow.
On Ingram Street, buildings were repaired and the streetscape was enhanced. On Trongate, buildings were repaired, historic features were reinstated and some were converted for new use.
