”It is important to have places of beauty in your community. Clonard church is now restored to its original place of beauty in West Belfast, and is open to all …”
The Church of the Most Holy Redeemer is a thriving centre for religious, heritage and cultural activity in West Belfast following substantial repairs to the outside of the building and the large rose window.

The congregation of the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer wanted to repair the building so it could develop its strong community work in West Belfast. The church, attached to the Clonard Monastery, needed urgent work to make the building safe and conserve a window. To improve access, a new forecourt and a separate accessible entrance were created.

A history of the church has also been produced and extracts from this are now on the church website, with downloadable resources for visitors. The live webcam and photo gallery of the church are especially popular.  The church is promoted by the Belfast tourism authorities as part of the West Belfast tourist route. School groups continue to visit, and the church is now an important venue in West Belfast for talks, concerts and festival activities.
