The Firing Line Museum, located in Cardiff Castle are running a project focusing on collections connected to the First World War held by project partners, Cardiff Story Museum, Glamorgan Archives, Western Front Association and Cardiff University.
The project will uncover and preserve this heritage explaining the First World War from a Cardiff context. In addition collections mapping will identify gaps in First World War material, culture and knowledge, which project partners will seek to address.
Schoolchildren and volunteers are learning about the First World War from both a local and global context through undertaking research and site visits. The project embraces digital technology, creating a focal reference point for Cardiff’s commemorations whilst working with difficult to reach audiences.
