Project description: This project will focus on the genetic heritage of heirloom vegetables in the Midlands. It will document and gather seeds, share knowledge and carry out interviews to discover stories related to this heritage.

The Forgotten Generations: Lest We Forget – Commemorating the public service of black RAF veterans from the West Midlands since the Second World War.

Applicant: The Forgotten Generations CIC

Project description: Black servicemen and women have served in the Royal Air Force since it was founded in 1918. This project seeks to tell the stories of those men and women from the Second World War to the present.

Decision: Award grant of £108,400 (100%)

Project description: This project will deliver a crowdfund community grants scheme in Walsall, named 'Walsall Community Heritage Fund'.

A Tile in Time

Applicant: The Parochial Church Council of Hinstock

Project description: This project will replace the tiles on the main roof, tower and porch and rectify internal damage; conserving historic fabric and reducing risk for long-term use of the building.

Decision: Award grant of £50,622 (44%)

Beyond the Barriers: Developing a fully inclusive cataloguing practice

Applicant: Archives West Midlands

Project description: This project will work with 10 member services to remove problematic catalogue descriptions in two archive collections they hold.

Charterhouse Heritage Park Phase 1, Coventry

Applicant: Historic Coventry Trust

Project description: To repair and conserve Coventry’s Charterhouse, a 14th-century Carthusian Prior’s House, a Grade I listed building that sits on the grounds of a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Works would enable the building to be opened up as a visitor attraction delivering community activities supported by volunteers.

Decision: Award grant increase of £249,965 to make a total grant of £6,347,075 (72%)
