Project description: To save two rare T.C. Lewis pipe organs by creating a heritage trail and an 18-month events programme to connect Jesmond United Reformed Church and St George's Church, Jesmond and engage the community in their shared heritage.

Seeds of Change: Documenting the history of the Co-operative College

Project description: To turn the college’s historic collection on education and the co-operative movement into a resource for the community through an interactive process with volunteers and the community.

Project description: To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the creation of the friction match by celebrating the life, achievements and impacts of the work of its creator, John Walker, in a short film.

Project description: To work with a range of under-served groups in workshops to develop and distribute a board game based on the history of Sunderland in response to the Sunderland riots.

Decision: Award grant of £38,676 (100%)

Project description: To restore the building’s murals and create new wall art, teach young people research and art skills. Young people will conduct research through discussion with older local people.

Restoring Pine Martens in Cumbria (RPMC): Connecting Lives and Landscapes

Applicant: University of Cumbria

Project description: To build on a previous project to restore Cumbria’s pine martens and their ecosystems, providing volunteering opportunities to prisoners struggling with their mental health.

Decision: Award grant of £248,111 (86%)

Project description: To create a physical and digital exhibition of the Lowry’s impact on Salford, showcasing the area’s cultural regeneration and engaging locals with the area’s social and cultural heritage.

Project description: To employ a professional sculptor to work with local primary school children to produce a landmark sculpture celebrating the area’s mining history.

Project description: To gather LGBTQ+ people to share milestones and challenges in Manchester’s LGBTQ+ activism since 1975 and share them through exhibitions, community activities and the revival of Outnorthwest magazine.
