National Lottery Heritage Grants £10,000 to £250,000
Our funding has enabled the association to create the Resourcing Reminiscence project, which is supporting around 25 community groups by:
- hosting and supporting internships and volunteer placements
- running six workshops across Scotland to raise awareness of possible heritage projects and fundraising opportunities
- delivering an online and in person training programme on heritage skills
- recruiting and training a team of new volunteers to deliver this work
Established in 1986, the Living Memory Association brings people together through the process of sharing memories. The Wee Museum of Memory – with branches in Edinburgh and West Lothian – offers visitors of different generations the opportunity to engage with an eclectic collection of objects that spark recollections.

The association also offers heritage skills training to professionals and community groups working with older people. This project is a significant milestone in the expansion of their important work.
Heather Robertson from the association said: “We are regularly approached by groups and organisations wanting to run projects to record and collect information about their unique past before it is lost. This project will build our capacity and help us share fundraising skills, research guidance and more with communities of all backgrounds.”
