Applicant: North Lincolnshire Council

Project description: Co-creating and delivering a three-year action plan for heritage and arts activity in North Lincolnshire, including direct delivery, commissioning and community grants.

Decision: Award grant percentage increase of 3% to make a total percentage of 51%

Revitalisation of the Mining Institute and creation of the Common Room of the Great North (KickstartGIA2020)

Applicant: The Common Room of the Great North Ltd

Project description: To revitalise the Grade 2* listed building, improving access and interpretation of the archive of the Industrial Revolution.

Decision: Award percentage increase of 0.39% to make a total percentage of 58.24%

Heritage Enterprise: Dewsbury Arcade

Applicant: Kirklees Council 

Project description: To refurbish Dewsbury Arcade and adjacent property, “Moneypenny’s”, to then lease to Arcade Group Dewsbury Limited, which will in turn let the retail and studio units to numerous tenants.

Decision: Award percentage increase of 1.32% to make a total percentage of 74.79%

Project description: To enable participation and connect communities to their local heritage site through awarding community grants to independent organisations across the North of England.

Project description: To safeguard the organisation and the AmberSide Collection – a film and photographic collection of documented heritage in the North East.

Bridging Cultures: Preserving Heritage and Enhancing Well-being in Greater Manchester

Applicant: Yaran Northwest CIC

Project description: To explore Middle Eastern heritage and cultural traditions in Greater Manchester through placements, oral histories, educational and digital materials, as well as providing support and holding community workshops.

Rwandan Genocide Memorial Stone at Newcastle's Civic Centre: Honouring the Past, Educating for the Future

Applicant: North East Rwandan Association

Project description: To research the 1984 Rwandan Genocide and work with community members to explore the cultural heritage of Rwanda, create educational materials, hold a Dedication ceremony and design a memorial stone.
