Project description: This project, led by young people, will research the history of the GAA club, the person that is the Club's namesake and the history of the site that the club is situated on.

FEASIBILITY STUDY – Ath-shamhlaithe: Baile Bhaile na mBráithre/Friar’s Bush: Re-imagined

Applicant: Caride na Cille C.I.C.

Project description: This project will complete a feasibility study at Friar's Bush Gatehouse and Cemetery located next to the Ulster Museum. The study will assess the current state of the Gatehouse building, re-configure a plan for a Heritage Welcome Centre and look at business plans for the future of the site.

Glenarm Village Knotweed Project

Applicant: Glenarm Village Committee

Project description: This project, led by volunteers, will tackle invasive species within the village area with a treatment and management proposal to improve the natural environment of Glenarm. Participants in the project will undergo training and acquire recognised skills in the treatment of invasive species.

Decision: Award grant of £8,008 (100% of total project costs)

Glenarm Heritage Steam Boiler Project

Applicant: Glenarm Building Preservation Trust

Project description: To preserve and refurbish a heritage steam boiler salvaged from the old factory on Glenarm seafront for exhibiting as the centrepiece of an industrial heritage display and permanent visitor attraction.

Decision: Award grant of £9,150 (79% of total project costs)

The Dark Hedges: Building Future Resilience

Applicant: Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust Limited

Project description: Establish a new governance framework to enable the Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust (CCGHT) to take over responsibility for the management of The Dark Hedges. This project will help develop a masterplan including access, conservation, maintenance, interpretation and promotion with a view to improving its resilience and protecting it in future.

Project description: This project will use volunteers to research the history of the Irish language in Derry and create guided tours and self-guided walks, highlighting key landmarks and pivotal moments in Derry’s Irish language evolution.

West Belfast Heritage Trail

Project description: The West Belfast Heritage Trail will connect the area’s heritage sites and venues and produce maps and videos to share the rich cultural tapestry and historical significance of the area with a wider audience.

Project description: This project will undertake repairs to the plaster and paint inside the Church at Montiagh, near Ederney, County Fermanagh.

Project description: This project will create an archive facility at premises in Garvaghey to house records, artefacts and ephemera relating to sporting and cultural heritage of ‘Gaelic’ Tyrone.

Project description: To create a heritage exhibition and events and activities programme charting the life of Michael Davitt.

Coast Office 2033: A Cooperative Approach to Sustaining Portballintrae’s Maritime Heritage and Environment

Project description: This project will undertake repairs to the B2 listed boat house in Portballintrae and deliver a range of activities exploring coastal and maritime heritage.

Eastside Lives – Lives Revisited through Heritage

Project description: This project will deliver a programme of heritage activities led by women for women, using the Old Market House and Bangor’s history to engage people who would be unlikely to engage with heritage otherwise.
