National Lottery Grants for Heritage – £10,000 to £250,000
To mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, Without Fear Again will work with the community in Bo’ness to share, uncover and preserve their stories for today and for future generations.
Bo’ness Town Trust Association has already shown how powerful and important community memories can be. They successfully delivered the Without Fear project which focused on the town’s men who fought in the Great War.
Preserving history for the future
The first Without Fear project demonstrated that exploring the stories of the fallen helped bring the people behind the names on the memorial to life for new generations.
Without Fear Again will build on these successes to introduce a wider range of people to the heritage and stories of the names on the Bo'ness War Memorial. It aims to engage a wide range of individuals and communities locally, nationally and further afield.
As well as working with local schools, the project will work with wider and more diverse audiences using a mix of face-to-face and online techniques, including social media and web resources.
Without Fear Again will be delivered over two years from 2023 to Armistice Day 2025, the 80th anniversary year of the end of the Second World War.
