Situated close to the iconic Blackpool Tower, the new museum will showcase the town’s unique social history and its role in the development of British popular entertainment.
The project has created six interactive gallery spaces with themed exhibitions that explore Blackpool’s entertainment history: Seaside, Magic, Circus, Illuminations, Shows and Dance.

The museum’s collection includes 27 loaned objects from the V&A and rarely-shown items from performers. This includes Peter Kay’s purple suit that was worn by the comedian in the video for the 2005 Comic Relief single ‘(Is this the way to) Amarillo.’
In each gallery, audio-visual displays have been installed where the words of entertainers can be heard as they give behind-the-scenes hints and tips of life in show business.
