#HeritageTreasures day - Monday 11 January 2021
Each year, we run a special social media day using #HeritageTreasures to showcase everything that is great about heritage, and acknowledge the fantastic work of the organisations we fund. 2021 is its fifth year and we want to make it bigger and better than ever before - so take part in the conversation online on the day.
“We’re taking this opportunity to shine a spotlight on those who have shown resilience and innovation during what has been a challenging time.”
Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive of The National Lottery Heritage Fund
This year we're celebrating the heritage places, stories and innovative online programmes that have kept us uplifted during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Join us in saying a big thank you to the people in the sector who have worked so hard to keep things going.
Chief Executive of The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Ros Kerslake said: “2020 has been a particularly tough year for the heritage sector. It’s been incredible to see the many creative ways the sector has responded to the pandemic.
“That’s why we’re taking this opportunity to shine a spotlight on those who have shown resilience and innovation during what has been a challenging time.”
How to get involved
If you’d like to get involved, simply share your chosen heritage treasure in a social media post on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook on Monday 11 January - use the hashtag #HeritageTreasures and tag @HeritageFundUK in your post.
For example, you might want to share a local park you visited throughout the pandemic, or highlight a museum or heritage story that is important to you or your organisation. Perhaps you have enjoyed or created an innovative online heritage programme, or you might want to simply say thank you to your heritage staff, volunteers and customers for their support.
Throughout the day we’ll be sharing your posts on our social media channels. We can’t wait to celebrate all our amazing heritage treasures across the UK.
