She is particularly interested in how heritage can support positive change for people and communities.
She has many years of experience in heritage-led regeneration and place-making, as well as developing funding programmes with under-represented audiences.
Caroline and her team work to support the heritage of Scotland through championing projects which celebrate, explore and care for the country’s diverse heritage.
After studying archaeology at the University of York, Caroline worked at the Council for Scottish Archaeology and Historic Environment Scotland. She joined The National Lottery Heritage Fund when it was first established in Scotland.
Caroline sits on the Our Place In Time Built Heritage Working Group and the Natural and Cultural Heritage Fund Performance Board of Scottish Natural Heritage.
