Heritage a winner at the SURF awards
This annual awards scheme run by SURF (Scotland’s Independent Regeneration Network) highlights, celebrates and shares best practice in regeneration.
Scapa Flow Landscape Partnership Scheme, which received a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant of £1.3m, scooped the prize for Sustainable Place, while Gigha Heritage Trust was the winner in the Infrastructure and Regeneration category, and Kirkton Woodland and Heritage Group received the award for Creative Regeneration.
These projects are exemplars of heritage-led regeneration in rural communities across Scotland. Projects in Govan (Govan Waymarkers) and Dundee (DightyConnect) showed the important place of natural and cultural heritage in our cities too. Find out more on the SURF website.
