Help celebrate the launch of the new Middlesbrough Town Hall
Book free tickets for the opening performance
Follow local volunteer performers and Southpaw Dance Company in an exciting promenade performance throughout the Town Hall – from the auditorium to the prison cells.
It promises to be an exciting immersive experience with a jaw-dropping finale! Free tickets are available for Friday 25 May, Saturday 26 May and Sunday 27 May
See big names and hidden spaces
At the heart of civic and cultural life for over 125 years, Middlesbrough Town Hall closed its doors two years ago when the National Lottery awarded it £3.7million for a major regeneration.
Come along to see some big names perform in the restored grand concert hall or discover areas of the building which have not been seen by the public for decades – including the courtroom, fire station and spectacular carriage way.
Discover untold stories and share your own
Keep an eye out for free events exploring the building’s history.
The ‘Voices from the Past’ tour on 20 May offers the chance to hear the stories of those who’ve used and loved the Town Hall. Then on 29 May, the ‘Tales from the Courtroom’ talk will uncover crime in Victorian Middlesbrough.
Bake a cake to make a map
If an edible celebration is more your thing, why not take part in creating a giant map of Middlesbrough – made entirely of cake!
Any baking ability welcome, just visit the Cake Fest Middlesbrough website to choose a landmark to recreate. The map will be unveiled, and eaten, on 1 July.
Book your tickets
Visit the Middlesbrough Town Hall website to find out more about all the events and to book your tickets. Spaces are limited so don’t delay!
