Since 1994 we have awarded over £970m of National Lottery and other funding to 5,000 projects in Scotland.

Scotland's rich heritage varies from glorious landscapes, shorelines and islands to vibrant urban environments. It has a distinctive and diverse people, culture, and heritage with a history of inventors and innovators known across the world. Take a look at some of the projects in Scotland we have been proud to support.

In addition to our English logos, you can use our Scots and Scottish Gaelic logos to acknowledge and celebrate our funding at historic sites, at events, in project materials and online. 

We’re excited to see projects using them and for Scots and Scottish Gaelic speaking communities to enjoy seeing their own languages on their local heritage.

Our National Lottery Heritage Grants funding programme is open – if you have an idea for a project in Scotland, we would love to hear from you. Grants are available from £10,000 up to £10m.

Visiting and access

If you wish to visit us in person, please email or call us in advance to book an appointment.

Enter through the main entrance to 40 Princes Street. Once in the building, you will be greeted by reception. The offices are on the 6th floor and can all be reached via lift with the main Cubo reception located on the 4th floor. Please report to reception on the 4th floor and we will then come to meet you. There are accessible toilets on site and access via stairs.

Supporting Scottish communities to record their own histories

The Living Memory Association is providing groups across Scotland with the skills and knowledge they need to create unique heritage projects.

Augmented reality technology to reawaken Hebridean history

Our funding will support the University of the Highlands and Islands to digitally reconstruct archaeological wonders on the islands of Barra and Harris.

Capturing memories from four decades of the Island Games

This project will celebrate and preserve oral histories from the rich heritage of the Games, ahead of the 20th edition taking place in Orkney in July 2025.
