Longest Yarn Llandudno – Gathering Threads of D-Day
Applicant: Friends of Mostyn Street
Project description: A six-month project to commemorate the Second World War's D-Day in Llandudno through a month-long series of events. These will include exhibits both on loan and created by local volunteers, a poppy trail, displays, re-enactments and recording of wartime memories digitally.
Decision: Award grant of £19,759 (75%)
Gender First – "See how gender roles have changed and how we can still make changes"
Applicant: Vale People First Limited
Project description: A two-year project aiming to provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities to connect with archive material around gender roles throughout history. This would enable participants to understand the historical context of gender roles in the present.
Decision: Award grant of £40,860 (100%)
St Mary's Church, Chirk, bell restoration and augmentation project
Applicant: The Ministry Area Council of St Mary's, Chirk in the Diocese of St Asaph
Project description: To restore a ring of six bells, cast in 1814 by John Rudhall of Gloucester and hung in St Mary’s Church, Chirk. The six bells were last worked on and rehung in 1912 by John Taylor and Co.
Decision: Award grant of £37,890 (53%)
Interpretation Gold: Celebrating 50 years of inspiring, engaging and connecting people to drive a more sustainable future in heritage interpretation
Applicant: Association for Heritage Interpretation
Project description: This 16-month project aims to mark the 50th anniversary of the Association of Heritage Interpretation, the membership body for those involved in interpretation.
Decision: Award grant of £150,000 (81%)
