Project description: The Orchard Project proposes a five-year project to support and encourage communities across Wales to learn about, restore, create, care for and celebrate traditional community orchards. A list of 34 shortlisted sites across Wales has been presented, which will be refined over the development phase.

Parc yr Esgob Walled Garden Restoration and Multi-functional Space

Project description: The project seeks to restore the historic walled garden within Parc yr Esgob, Abergwili, transforming it into a flexible, accessible and sustainable space for public engagement, wellbeing and heritage learning. The project will repair and conserve key historic features, including the 18th-century garden walls, curtilage structures and the remnants of three Victorian glasshouses, which will be adapted to support heritage horticulture, food production, and educational activities. Alongside physical restoration, the project will create a new network of paths, seating areas, a performance space and interpretation materials in both English and Welsh, ensuring the site is accessible and engaging for a broad range of visitors.

Tylorstown Welfare Hall and Institute
Applicant: Tylorstown Welfare Hall Limited
Project description: This three year five month project aims to repair and restore Tylorstown Welfare Hall so that it can deliver a high quality heritage, cultural and social offer to the people of the Rhondda Fach. The comprehensive scheme of physical improvements to the building will be delivered alongside an ambitious activity plan which will establish the hall as a centre for community activity.
