Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (the Act) requires public authorities, in carrying out their functions relating to Northern Ireland (NI), to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity and regard to the desirability of promoting good relations across a range of categories outlined in the Act.

In the attached equality scheme we set out how Heritage Lottery Fund (NI) proposes to fulfil the Section 75 statutory duties in Northern Ireland.

As a commitment under our revised equality scheme the HLF has developed an action plan to promote equality of opportunity and good relations in Northern Ireland. The objective of this audit and action plan is to scan the work of the HLF and identify any inequalities - continuing or emerging - which HLF functions and policies could impact on, and equally develop measures which will seek to address any inequalities identified.
