Awareness of Greater Manchester's LGBT+ heritage was raised through participation and learning events with communities across the county.

The From Queer to Eternity project focused on increasing awareness and understanding of the journey the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT+) community has been on, specifically over the last 100 years.

The project was run by LGBT+ Foundation, which was established in 2000 to provide a wide range of support and services to LGBT+ people. The organisation’s core ethos is: Ending Homophobia, Empowering People.

Delivery of the key activities coincided with LGBT+ History Month and engaged participants from all over Greater Manchester. The activities included pub-style heritage quizzes, a variety of learning events, the development of an online timeline and the production of an updated Manchester LGBT+ historical source guide.

The project was successful in engaging people to learn about heritage. It also made materials more accessible for future use through the cataloguing of new and existing artefacts and information.
