The Llanymynech Limeworks Heritage Area has been conserved and restored, ensuring the public will be able to enjoy this historic site safely.

The Llanymynech Limeworks Heritage Area is of national significance dating back to the Bronze Age. The heritage site outlines the industrial lime works process from the 19th century and contains one of only three remaining Hoffman Kilns in the country.

The project itself revolved around the conservation and restoration of the heritage site to make it safe for public access. It led to the creation of an open-air museum telling the story of limestone, including a working production line with a quarry, canal and railway.

Four buildings were repaired, including a previously unused stable block which is now an education and visitor centre, and two major kilns.

The heritage site has also been given a designated section on the Llanymynech Community Project website which was developed using the grant. The website contains an education pack for schools and information about the site itself.
