The Living Lomonds scheme focuses on a 138 sq km area of Fife taking in the Lomond Hills and contrasting communities to the north and south, including Falkland, Scotland’s first conservation village and historic mining communities such as Benarty.

The hills and lowland plain between are home to a wide range of wildlife such as ospreys, peregrine and green tiger beetles; and key industries such as mining, flax spinning, weaving and papermaking.

The Crafts of the Hills project is all about raising awareness of craft traditions that once existed in the hills and exploring how they drew on the natural resources of the landscape. Working with a range of local artists, crafters, cooks and historians, participants are able to take part in a range craft activities, including scarf-making and willow weaving.
