Kibble Palace is a Victorian glasshouse in Glasgow Botanic Gardens. It was restored as part of this project, allowing it to continue to serve as a centre for botanical excellence.

The glasshouse dates from 1873 and is considered to be one of the finest glasshouse structures in the world.

The fabric of the Palace was previously in a very poor condition and was at risk of closure. Repair and restoration work was carried out to the cast and wrought iron structure, which was showing severe corrosion.

The project also worked to improve visitor facilities and the Palace’s collection of internationally significant plants.  As well as creating an exhibition showing the progress of the work on site, project plans included developing an integrated plant and environmental awareness programme to allow visitors to learn more about Kibble Palace’s collections.
