The Dissenters Graveyard in Exeter contains significant physical heritage related to the nonconformist tradition and includes a wealth of family and local history. It has been closed for public access for many years and had become very neglected and overgrown.

Volunteers researched and surveyed the Exeter Dissenters Graveyard, supported by specialists. This work helped to identify and record the tombs and their condition.

Interpretation material and a database of the tombs have been created. This was followed by a series of open days for the community to have a look at the work. These activities will allow for better management of the monuments and tombs; with the interpretation and open days allowing local people to learn about the heritage of the graveyard.

The Exeter Dissenters Graveyard website has more information on the project.
