Diss Town Council led on a project to regenerate the town’s Heritage Triangle, with the historic Corn Hall at its centre.

The Town Council worked together with the Diss Corn Hall Trust and Diss Museum to deliver a series of works to improve the wider heritage setting of Diss’ historic town centre.

This included a particular focus on the Grade II listed Corn Hall, which will now provide a space for performing arts, and will provide the town with a fully up-to-date arts and heritage centre.

The town centre has also benefited from improved access to historic buildings and areas for visitors and businesses, with particular areas of change including:

  • a redesign for the town centre’s streets to improve access for pedestrians
  • the creation of a public wildlife garden and floating boardwalk alongside Diss Mere

The project saw more than 250 volunteers getting involved, and many local businesses and individuals making amazing contributions.

The town’s heritage will now be accessible to a far wider audience, as local stories have been explored and presented around the town through interactive maps.
