Thanks to a heritage grant, the Garden Museum supported a number of innovative traineeships designed to boost sector skills.

Horticultural Traineeship

Trainees learnt about the care, development and maintenance of the museum gardens, working with a team of garden volunteers and supported by a horticultural consultant.

Sustainability Traineeship

Young people with a passion for both heritage and the environment learnt about the museum sector through developing skills in sustainability in museum practice. This was one of the first traineeships of its kind in museums, with trainees now applying skills and sharing ideas across the country.

Events and AV traineeships

A popular events programme to create a digital programme of films and podcasts. The grant supported two traineeships.

SOCL Traineeship

The Strengthening Our Common Life (SOCL) traineeship was devised and managed by London-based arts and heritage charity Cultural Co-operation.
