Bute Park is a Grade I listed park in Cardiff that was restored to protect and enhance one of Cardiff's most cherished and popular attractions.

The project helped to tell the story of the park and provided local people with a place to enjoy, to learn about and to feel a part of.  Alongside improving the visual appearance of the park, Cardiff Council have developed skills through an apprenticeship scheme which provided opportunities to undertake a wide range of grounds maintenance and horticultural operations, as well as a professional qualification.

People were involved throughout the project’s lifespan: through consultation, research, art competitions, school visits, family events, training courses and the development of a friends group.

More information can be found on the Bute Park website.

Cllr Huw Thomas, Cabinet Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, said: "This is another stem of the Bute Park Restoration Project which continues to enhance our wonderful city centre park as a place of freedom, recreation and enjoyment by all."
