This project, led by Bournemouth Natural Science Society, created a temporary exhibition as part of Local History month to commemorate Bournemouth's role in the Second World War.

The exhibition helped visitors and local residents to understand the town’s part in the war and shared the experiences and artefacts of community members who had direct experience of life at the time – experiences that would otherwise be lost to public appreciation.

The society opened part of its large Grade II building in central Bournemouth for the exhibition, which covered 18 different themes. They also provided other local history groups space to offer and share information with the community.
