Summer to make a welcome appearance?
Nothing signifies the start of summer more than a trip to a traditional British seaside town. The holiday retreat of Jaywick Sands in Essex has been awarded the grant to help tell the story of how it was created in the 1920s and enjoyed by generations ever since.
Once famous for its kiss-me-quick hats, the seaside retreat of Jaywick has been capturing the joy of family holidays by the sea for many years. Jaywick for Happiness is a chance for the people of Jaywick to share what they feel makes the resort unique. It will capture the fun of the traditional family seaside holiday fondly remembered by so many through the photographs, films and memories of its residents and holidaymakers.
For more information about the project as well as a chance to view images that have already been shared, please visit the Jaywick for Happiness website.
