New member sought for our Scotland Committee

Membership of Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Committees offers an exciting opportunity for individuals to help shape the future of heritage. Members need to have a broad appreciation of their countries heritage and a commitment to promoting its public understanding and enjoyment to the widest possible audience.

Sheena Wurthmann, Committee Member for Scotland, who will be standing down in August said: "As a member of the Committee for Scotland I have seen great projects come to fruition - without HLF support they would have struggled. I have learned about history, culture and community. I have been able to encourage the natural heritage projects, ensuring their continued significance and contribution within Scotland's landscape.

“When I applied the question was asked: "Do you care about Scotland's heritage?" I did and do, and have enjoyed contributing to the positive results of HLF funding. The staff and the committee make an excellent team that is a joy to work with. Six years has passed too quickly and it is now time for someone else to take up the baton."

We are currently recruiting for a Member vacancy on our Committee for Scotland. Committees take decisions on all requests from £50,000 and up to £1million and provide a crucial country perspective to the HLF Board on larger grants over £1million and on targeted programmes and initiatives.
