HLF-funded renovation begins at Swansea Buddhist Centre
A HLF grant of £33,900 is enabling the centre to transform a disused annex at the Victorian, Grade II-listed building into a new Meditation Hall. This development will include the restoration of the original roof lantern feature, which will significantly improve the property’s standing as a place of architectural splendour and historical importance within the local area.
As well increasing Dharmavajra Centre’s capacity for spiritual development, the completion of this project will allow the centre to provide a more comprehensive service to visitors wishing to celebrate Swansea’s heritage, through the provision of group visits and guided tours. The centre is also actively seeking volunteers who can assist with the creation of a bilingual information booklet and website that will be used to illuminate the historical importance of Springfield House.
