Are you interested in starting a heritage project but don't know who to talk to? We are running a workshop in Newport to help you find the right partners.

Have you thought of applying to HLF for a grant?  Do you want to find out more about heritage organisations in your area, and who can help you to record and preserve your local history and heritage?  Have you got an idea, but want to know more about how to make a grant application?  If so, this workshop is for you.

HLF Wales will be holding a Heritage Together event in Pillgwenlly Millenium Centre in Newport on the 27 September 2016 for participants wishing to apply for funding to deliver a heritage project.

We are running the session in partnership with Catalyst Cymru, Gwent Archives, Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO), Newport Communities First, Newport Museum and People's Collection Wales.  Previous applicants will also be on hand to share their experiences with you.

These organisations will tell you more about their work and how they can help you with your project by providing expertise and advice, connecting you with experts, recommending resources, preservation of artefacts, sharing your project results and providing training.

The session will involve

  • Information on HLF grant programmes
  • How to write a project plan
  • First World War; then and now
  • How to write a budget
  • Other sources of funding (GAVO)
  • How to use People's Collection Wales
  • Presentation from Newport Museum
  • Presentation from Catalyst Cymru
  • Presentation from Communities First
  • Case Studies from previous applicants

One to one meetings can also be arranged with HLF, People's Collection Wales, Newport Museum and Catalyst Cymru.
