Help us to be a more inclusive funder
We know that there are groups who are currently under-served by our funding. That's why we are commissioning independent research to find out what we can do to provide more equitable access and better support.
We would like a wide variety of people to contribute to this research and to share their thoughts and experiences.
Register to take part in the research.
Deadline extended to: Friday 11 February.
Who can take part in the research?
We would like to hear from you if your organisation is led by or works with:
- people from diverse ethnic and cultural communities
- disabled people
- LGBTQ+ people
- young people
- people from low socio-economic backgrounds
We’re particularly interested in hearing from organisations and groups who have not applied to us for funding before.
We are interested in hearing about your perception of heritage and how you think it can benefit local people and places – even if heritage is not the focus of your work. For example, your focus might be on community or social work, health and wellbeing activities, training and development opportunities or youth programmes, arts and culture, conservation or sustainability initiatives.
You don’t need to be working in heritage to take part.
We want to hear from organisations in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
How will the research take place?
We have commissioned The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC) to carry out the research. A member of TSIC's research team will hold a short interview (online or telephone) with everyone who takes part.
All research participants will be reimbursed for their time. More details will be provided if you are invited to an interview.
Register your interest
If you are interested in taking part, please register your details on this short form. We will also ask a few questions about your work.
Your data will be processed according to GDPR legislation by TSIC and will not be shared with third parties.
If you have any queries about the research or are not able to complete the survey, please contact the Heritage Fund's Insight Manager, Vanessa Moore, via email: Vanessa.Moore@heritagefund.org.uk.
What will happen to the research findings?
This research will help to define and shape our future actions. It will help us to identify the next steps we need to take to embed inclusive practices across all areas of our organisation.
We will update all contributors on the findings from the research when it is complete.
Our commitment to inclusion
We set out a clear commitment to inclusion in our Strategic Funding Framework 2019-2024. Inclusion – "involving a wider range of people" – is a mandatory outcome of all the projects we fund.
We published the findings from Phase 1 of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Review in 2021, and are already working on the actions recommended.
