Sir James Paget, the surgeon from Great Yarmouth who dedicated his life to studying some of the diseases rife during the Victorian era is to be the focus of a Sharing Heritage project.

Great Yarmouth Arts Festival have received a grant of £9,800 to help local people across the town learn about their medical champion. Three schools will chronicle the life of Paget, from his humble beginnings to his work as one of leading surgeons of his day.

Young people will produce an animated film and an exhibition about Paget, as well as getting under the skin of Victorian life... from water purification, to medical treatments and local history.

Creative partnerships with local sites like the Time and Tide Museum will help everyone in Great Yarmouth to share in Paget's legacy.
