Are you interested in doing something to commemorate the centenary of the First World War in your area?

Have you thought of applying to the HLF's First World War Then and Now grant programme?  Do you want to find out more about unfamiliar parts of the war, and how you can get help from researchers to investigate the aspects of the conflict that interest you? Have you got an idea, but want to know more about how to make a grant application?  If so this information event and grants workshop is for you.

HLF London Team will be holding a First World War information session on 7 December at our offices in Holbein Place from 10.30 – 3.30pm for participants wishing to apply for funding to run a First World War Centenary project.

We are running the session in partnership with colleagues from the First World War Engagement Centres.

These centres are based in universities, and welcome enquiries from individuals or groups wherever they are located. They can connect you with university researchers, recommend archives and resources, advise on documenting and sharing your project and provide training.  Each centre has areas of particular expertise. You can find out more on the First World War Engagement Centres website.

The session will involve:

  • An overview from HLF about the funding available
  • Presentations from engagement centre colleagues outlining top tips and support they can offer
  • A case study from an HLF project currently in delivery
  • The opportunity to sign up for 1-1 slots with engagement centre colleagues and HLF development staff in the afternoon

How to sign up:

To attend the session please sign up via the Eventbrite page. Spaces are limited and available on a first-come-first served basis.
