Department for Culture Media and Sport launch Call for Evidence: Lotteries

We are drawing this Call for Evidence to your attention as DCMS is seeking views from those who benefit directly or indirectly from funding provided through The National Lottery.

The DCMS Call for Evidence closes on 4 March and can be found on the GOV.UK website.

The National Lottery was, uniquely, set up with the sole aim of maximising returns to good causes that were unlikely to compete as central priorities for Government funding, but nonetheless contribute greatly to the quality of our national life. The consultation asks for responses to seven specific questions about society lotteries, The National Lottery, and betting and gaming. It is not necessary to answer each individual question – you might simply want to give examples of the importance of National Lottery funding to your work or express your opinions on these matters. Responses should be submitted by email by 4 March 2015 to Jeremy.stewart@culture.gov.uk.

We are currently preparing HLF’s own response to the consultation. A draft of our position statement is available for you to read below.
