Celebrating Yorkshire's autumn scenes

As part of our Yorkshire’s Back Garden campaign and in the run-up to National Tree Week (26 November to 4 December), we are asking you to share your images of your favourite Yorkshire autumnal scenes.

With autumn settling in there is plenty to see and celebrate in our natural environment. Autumnal hues and fluttering leaves mean now is a great time to explore Yorkshire’s woods and discover the importance of these habitats for biodiversity and leisure activities. We want to encourage you to get out and explore your local green spaces and to share with us what you find.

We are pulling together a Flickr gallery to celebrate some of Yorkshire’s autumnal scenes - wonderful woodlands and tremendous trees and we would love for you to contribute. Do you know of a great specimen in your local park? Is there a huge American Redwood nestled round the corner or ancient woodlands that bring to life what Yorkshire might have been like?

Please share your photos with us on Twitter using #HLFnature to @HLFYandH or send us an email so that we can celebrate our natural heritage together.

Yorkshire’s Back Garden campaign

Through our Yorkshire’s Back Garden campaign HLF is raising awareness of the fantastic natural heritage on our doorsteps. We want to encourage applications for funding from all champions of natural heritage, particularly small, local and community groups with projects that help raise awareness of the wildlife and nature to be found close to home.

Feeling inspired?

If you feel inspired and want to talk to us about your natural heritage project idea then get in touch. We’ve got grants starting from £3,000 for projects that will help to look after and share your community’s natural heritage.
