This Wednesday 1 August it will be Yorkshire Day again, a fantastic county-wide celebration of all the things that make Yorkshire great.

Now in its 43rd year, we have teamed up with 11 of Yorkshire’s wonderful and diverse family-friendly heritage attractions to celebrate with some amazing free offers for National Lottery players.

From discovering the golden age of steam, helping record wildlife, getting out into the great outdoors or dancing through the streets, Yorkshire has it all to celebrate this Yorkshire Day!

Bempton Cliffs RSPB

Wednesday 1 August

Explore the towering cliffs and see thousands of the UK's largest seabird, the gannet at Bempton Cliffs RSPB. Then join Whale and Dolphin Watch Week and visit the Seabird Centre’s 'underwater world' to discover what life is really like beneath the waves. Free entry with a National Lottery ticket.

Old Moor RSPB

1 – 31 August – 9.30am - 5pm

Take part in a family adventure and discover the Yorkshire names of birds on the Old Moor reserve. Half price family entry with a free pond dipping kit or discovery backpack for National Lottery ticket holders.

Historic Railway Experience

1 – 31 August

Explore the days of steam travel with fantastic family fun at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Free entry to the award winning Engine Shed museum at Ingrow if you bring a National Lottery ticket.

Heritage of York Gate

1 – 31 August (Mon – Thurs)

Visit one of the country’s best small gardens. Located in the historic Leeds village of Adel, cared for by Perennial and brought to life by local community volunteers. Buy one ticket, get one free with a National Lottery ticket in August.

Dales Countryside Museum

1 – 31 August (Mon – Weds)

Discover the stories of the people and landscape of the Yorkshire Dales. Free entry for National Lottery tickets holders throughout August (Mon-Weds only).

York Mansion House

Wednesday 1 August

Discover the history of York’s recently restored 18th-century townhouse and watch cooking demos making historic ‘York ginger bread’ in the kitchens. Half price entry if you turn up with a National Lottery ticket.

The Piece Hall, Halifax

Wednesday 1 August, midday to 6pm

Come along and help The Piece Hall celebrate its one-year anniversary with an afternoon tea street party.

Pontefract Castle

Wednesday 1 August, 11am-4pm

Join in the fun with English Civil War re-enactors, gun and cannon demonstrations, brass band performances and more at Pontefract Castle!

Weston Park Museum, Sheffield

Visit the newly launched Circus! Show of Shows exhibition and join a dazzling celebration of 250 years of circus in Great Britain.

Leeds Carnival 2018

Monday 27 August – 2 – 5pm

As the month draws to a close, celebrate Yorkshire at the Big Leeds Carnival Parade – set to bring the streets alive with an explosion of colour, costumes and cuisines! Potternewton Park, Harehills Avenue Leeds 7.
