Funding
Our National Lottery Heritage Grants funding programme is open – if you have an idea for a project in the North of England, we would love to hear from you. Grants are available from £10,000 up to £10m.

Our regular online funding workshops and advice sessions are a great opportunity to:

- get tips on how to make a good application
- network with other organisations from your area

There is step-free access throughout the building, with a few low gradient ramps. There is lift access to three floors and adapted toilets on all levels. The downstairs accessible toilets have height adjusting sinks, rails and a hoist.

The building is wheelchair accessible, with access via the car park. There is a lift from street level to the car park along with an assistance call button. There is a platform lift to the mezzanine floor and an accessible toilet.

A Day on the Beach
A group of young volunteers worked with local people to preserve the heritage of North Tyneside's beach resorts.

Young people discover the story of the Accrington Pals
Young people researched the experiences of the Accrington Pals in the First World War, developing a short film and workshop for secondary schools and encouraging others to make their own films.

Green Giants
The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) joined forces with independent school Building Young People's Potential (BYPP) to help 103 young people in alternative education learn accredited skills and become ‘Green Giants.’

Portobello Youth Heritage Project - 'Dig Deep'
Young people worked with a community arts organisation to discover the medieval heritage of their local area and build a stronger sense of community cohesion.

Young people with learning disabilities practiced a variety of ancient crafts and shared new skills with their wider local community through a traditional fair.

Historic buildings and streets in Bradford City Centre Conservation Area were the focus of this project.

This project was based on an idea taken from an original book, published by the Craven Herald in 1920, commemorating every soldier from the Craven District who fell in the First World War.

The wider community was involved in this project to uncover the natural and archaeological heritage of Heaton Woods, an area of ancient semi-natural woodland.

Shipwrecks of the River Humber tells the untold story of Grimsby’s fisherman who went out on trawlers during the First World War.

Through workshops and visits, children from Salesbury School used archives to find out how the First World War affected boys living in Blackburn Orphanage.

Tracing your roots back to Gallipoli
Twenty young people, aged 14-19, researched the lives of Bolton soldiers who had died during the 1915 Gallipoli campaign.
