The birthplace of the industrial revolution, the North of England is buzzing with thousands of years of history.
We're proud to support our communities to protect and celebrate the region’s irreplaceable heritage, from the cityscapes of Manchester to the stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales, the cultural history of Newcastle, through to the Lake District's natural beauty.

Funding
Our National Lottery Heritage Grants funding programme is open – if you have an idea for a project in the North of England, we would love to hear from you. Grants are available from £10,000 up to £10m.

Our regular online funding workshops and advice sessions are a great opportunity to:

- get tips on how to make a good application
- network with other organisations from your area

There is step-free access throughout the building, with a few low gradient ramps. There is lift access to three floors and adapted toilets on all levels. The downstairs accessible toilets have height adjusting sinks, rails and a hoist.

Young people will explore the evolution of computer games from Pong to modern-day narrative-based platform games.

This intergenerational project engaged migrant women in sharing the hobbies they had enjoyed back home in the sixties and seventies, ensuring these pastimes weren't lost forever.
