Meat Market Regeneration Project

Applicant: Meat Market Regeneration CIC

Project description: To deliver a community-led regeneration project to refurbish and develop the historic B-listed Glasgow Meat Market and deliver a programme of activities.

Decision: Award grant of £2,323,737 (28% of total project costs)

New Roots Old Roots at Palacerigg Country Park

Applicant: North Lanarkshire Council

Project description: North Lanarkshire Council aims to restore, enhance and showcase the natural, built and social heritage of Palacerigg Country Park through a heritage- and play-centred approach.

Decision: Reject

St Margaret's Braemar – Regenerating a hidden Scottish masterpiece

Applicant: Historic Churches Scotland

Project description: This project aims to save and re-use St Margaret’s Church Braemar by carrying out works to conserve, repair and extend the building to provide a culture heritage asset for community use.

Decision: Award development grant of £249,979 (26% of total project costs) and potential delivery grant of £2,348,574 (40% of total project costs)

Cultural Tides: Peterhead (Re-discovering, Re-imagining, Re-connecting)

Applicant: Aberdeenshire Council

Project description: Aberdeenshire Council proposes to fit out the museum within Arbuthnot House.  This project focuses on the fit-out of the museum and the collection which is part of a wider project to transform the building into a sustainable new cultural venue, a prominent landmark in Peterhead.

Decision: Award development grant of £309,409 (69% of total project costs) and potential delivery grant of £4,020,338 (88% of total project costs)

Edinburgh Biomes – Heritage Glasshouse Project

Applicant: Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh

Project description: The works to conserve the Palm Houses are due to complete in January 2025. There have been significant cost increases over the course of the project, most notably in relation to the spend on the historic windows and glass. This grant increase request aims to ensure that the programme of repair works to the Palm Houses are completed and that risks to the collections, heritage buildings and project outcomes are minimised.

Decision: Award grant of £800,000 to make a total grant of £4,800,000
