Project Description: This project aims to restore Fleshers Close to use as a community space over 18-months, providing training opportunities in traditional skills for (predominantly) young people locally who would not otherwise have access to apprenticeship opportunities.

The Restoration of Balmacara Old Mill Hall

Applicant: Balmacara Community Trust

Project Description: This project aims  restore the derelict Water Powered Sawmill as a community gathering space. Protecting and preserving its heritage features by using sympathetic conservation, whilst creating a space for people to gather and attend community events and activities.

Project Description: This project seeks to conserve artworks in the Art in Health Collection that are currently in storage, make them ready to exhibit and put them on display around Scotland for the general public to engage with and enjoy.

Aerodrome Baby - Brown Baby Boom in Perth

Applicant: Theatre of the Oppressed Scotland

Project Description: This project aims to protect the heritage of the Scone Aerodrome, which stands as a symbol of Perth’s rich past and uncover the largely forgotten story of the brown baby boom in Perth in the 1970s - an untold chapter on experiences of Perth's love and inclusion along with experiences of racism and hate.

Intangible Cultural Heritage in Scotland - Protection through Connection

Applicant: Museums Galleries Scotland

Project Description: This project aims to create an Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) partnership in Scotland. This partnership will consist of; Museum Galleries Scotland; Historic Environment Scotland; and Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland. This partnership aims to pool the expertise of these organisations to create a national infrastructure to preserve ICH and thus foster greater community identity in Scotland.

Decision: Award Grant of £249,982 (93%)

Rescuing the Unique Heritage of Govan Old

Applicant: The Govan Heritage Trust SCIO

Project Description: This project aims to increase public access and create a sustainable future for Govan Old by creating a museum, learning space and visitor centre as well as business space and community hub offering facilities to let. The project also seeks to deliver a high-profile campaign to increase the visibility of Govan Old and to promote heritage through activities.

Decision: Award Grant of £250,000 (11%)

Cultural Glenkens - Preserving the heritage of our place

Applicant: Glenkens Community and Arts Trust Limited

Project Description: This project aims to promote social cohesion within communities living in Glenkens through sharing of their culture and natural heritage.

Decision: Award Grant of £199,224 (78%)

A Resilient Scottish Zine Community

Applicant: Glasgow Zine Library, SCIO

Project Description: This project seeks to increase the resilience and accessibility of the Glasgow Zine Library’s (GZL) collection and Scotland’s wider zine heritage.

East Mainland Show Park Pavilion and Heritage Resources

Applicant: East Mainland Agricultural Society SCIO

Project Description: This project seeks to improve accessibility and inclusion at the Show Park in Toab, by building a Pavilion. In addition, the Society aims to research and document the heritage of the Show, illustrating how it has evolved since its establishment in 1897, reflecting a period of immense agricultural change.
