Project description: The project’s focus is natural heritage, specifically how native plant species and biodiversity is being affected by climate change. Visitors and the wider community will be connected with their natural, built and industrial heritage through various creative media using digital technologies and innovative approaches. Belfast City Council is a key partner and match funder.
Decision: Award Development grant of £255,172 (80%) with potential Delivery grant of £944,507 (83%) of total project costs.

Applicant: Groundwork Northern Ireland
Project description: The aim of the project is to encourage communities to protect the local natural environment and consequently their cultural and built heritage. This will focus initially within the Sandy Row and Markets areas in Belfast, with a view to broadening the geographic area.

Reading, Writing, Restoration: Bushmills’ Old School Project
Applicant: The Bushmills Trust
Project description: The project aims to repair and extend the Grade 1 listed school building for use as a multifunctional community space. A range of community activities are planned to capture oral histories, cultural traditions and to develop digital platforms and workshops to promote self-sustainability.
Decision: Award Development grant of £29,000 (95%) with potential Delivery grant of £943,453 (81%) of total project costs.
