Project description: This project will undertake capital repair works to the church tower to remove the church from the Heritage at Risk Register and enable activities to promote its heritage to local communities.

Decision: Award grant of £189,245 (67%)

St Laurence Bell Tower and Lychgate Heritage Preservation Project

Applicant: The Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish Church of Blackmore St Laurence

Project description: To repair the bell tower and lychgate of this Grade I listed Essex church and provide inclusive activities for the community.

Decision: Award grant of £231,720 (64%)

 

Repair and re-glazing of the Chancel Altar window

Applicant: The Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of the A453 Churches of South Nottinghamshire

Project description: To repair stonework, reglaze the chancel altar window and develop volunteer skills at the Grade I listed Holy Trinity Church at Ratcliffe-on-Soar, Nottinghamshire.

Decision: Award grant of £10,667 (38%)

Project description: To conduct audience consultation, an options appraisal and other resilience work to review the future redevelopment of Eyam Museum in Derbyshire to mark its 30th anniversary.

Unlocking The Vaults: Exploring the history and legacy of Birmingham Municipal Bank at The Exchange

Applicant: University of Birmingham

Project description: Tol undertake archival research into the history of Birmingham’s Grade II listed Exchange building (formerly the Birmingham Municipal Bank and known as ‘the People’s Bank’). The project will explore the financial heritage of audiences across Birmingham. It will interpret and improve understanding and care of the building's physical and intangible heritage.

Decision: Award grant of £173,250 (90%)

Project description: This project will promote local history of Huntingdonshire with a festival marking the 100th anniversary of 'The Thinking Soldier' war memorial and the 425th birthday of Oliver Cromwell.

Applicant: South Kesteven District Council

Project description: This project will save stories about the Airborne Forces troops from Britain, the United States and Poland who were stationed at South Kesteven, Lincolnshire during the Second World War. it will involve community archaeology, educational programmes, creating physical and digital heritage trails, a website and events at two airfields.

Decision: Award grant of £147,550 (91%)

Applicant: All Saints Church Toftrees Parochial Church Council

Project description: To carry out a capital scheme of repairs to a Grade I listed church in Norfolk with a view to removing the site from the Heritage at Risk Register.

Decision: Reject

 

The Power of Worcester

Applicant: Crave Arts

Project description: This project explores the history of electricity in Worcester. It will engage the local community in the history of the Worcester Generating Station site and the 140th anniversary of Europe’s first hydroelectric power station at Powick Mills.

Decision: Award grant of £42,831 (95%)

Project description: This project will work with school children in nine towns and villages across England to gather stories from older residents about heritage landmarks in these places.

Project description: To collect memories and memorabilia related to Radio Orwell in Suffolk ahead of the 50th anniversary of the station’s founding in 2025, creating events and archive material.

Project description: This project will involve raising awareness of the intangible Congolese heritage of birth and naming ceremonies for twins, engaging young people through intergenerational workshops and training in oral history recording and transcription.

Project description: This resilience project will help improve the Trust’s core infrastructure, engaging new audiences and strengthening collaborative partnerships to help improve its management of the Grade II* listed castle and Scheduled Ancient Monument near Dorstone, Herefordshire. 

Decision: Award grant of £201,104 (100%)

 

Celebrating Wensum Lodge and its importance to Norwich and Norfolk 1807-2024

Applicant: WISEArchive

Project description: This project will celebrate Norwich’s Grade I listed Wensum Lodge and its history as an adult learning centre from 1954 to 2024. It will save heritage through the collection of local oral histories, making these available to all on a website and in local exhibitions.

Decision: Award grant of £27,808 (100%)

Project description: This project will reconnect East Suffolk communities with their shared heritage: historical, cultural and natural, creating tangible outcomes through increased participation and engagement from the community.

Project description: This project will explore, share and celebrate the heritage of ‘The Kite’ which is an area in central Cambridge, its boundaries forming the shape of a kite, that has a long history of community activism.

Project description: This project will research and preserve the heritage of a significant cultural festival held in Leamington, Warwickshire from 1951 to 1961.

Project description: To explore the past, present and future of Nirvana Football Club, a Leicester club celebrating its 30th anniversary. The project will culminate in an outdoor exhibition at a Leicester-based international arts festival.
